Logged shooting sessions and the law
A member who holds a permit to detain an arm or a member who wishes to apply for one, must participate in at least three controlled target shooting sessions per year. These sessions are mandatory and must be spaced at least two months apart. To participate in a controlled target shooting session, you must be in possession of a valid license and valid logbook.
When a licensee holds a permit to detain arms for weapons classified under the 1st and 4th categories, he/she must use a 1st category arm during these sessions. The weapon used must have the same characteristics as the one (s) held (s) by the licensee. These controlled target shooting sessions must take place at a registered range (definition of registered ranges: Decree 93-110 of 3/09 / 93), under the supervision of the President of the club or a person designated by him (preferably someone who holds a state or federal diploma or official arbitrator) The people who are permitted to supervise and log these sessions are displayed on the clubs regulation notice board down at the firing point.
Terms :
Paper, metal or clay targets: At least 40 rounds must be fired on the corresponding targets under the supervision of the official supervisor. Once the rounds have been fired, the official supervisor validates the logbook shot by affixing their name, signature, date, and the club stamp and they then fill in the register. This register, records the name and address of any person participating in a controlled target shooting session and remains permanently at the range and must be presented upon request to any competent authorities.
Participation in any league or official competition organised under the the FFTir can count as a validation in the shooting logbook, subject to fulfilling the conditions set out in paragraph 2.3.
